Daddy's little man

I love how Cam's  face lights up when Kelly comes home. It is the literal incarnation of the song "I'm so glad when daddy comes home". Just no quiet happy end. The end of the song here is a wrestling match.

Have I done any good?

I have been reading an article in the Ensign (a magazine my church puts out) about the man we believe to be the prophet. It is about his life and the good he has done and the fact that he is always thinking of others. He says didn't have the scriptures read to him when he was young, but his parents lived them. You can read the whole article here .
I have been thinking about this article a lot. I would love to be remembered like President Monson as a person who went about doing good. I have been taught since I was young to care for others and be compassionate, so being more so would not be an unpleasant stretch for me. I am HORRIBLE at reading the scriptures, especially to the kids, but I bet if they could see me living them, they would learn a lot about who Christ is.
So, I am going to start at home. Because that is the hardest place for me to be compassionate, tolerant and Christlike. Silly, huh? But that is where I will start. What an awesome blessing it is to have modern day prophets to lead by example and to let us know the will of God.
If you see me ask me how it is going, I always need someone to be accountable to.

Adventures in mealtime

It has been hard trying to find food that interests Cameron. Presentation amd my attitude are a huge part of it. We have been in a slump lately, he just wants bread and cereal, and I am running out of ideas. Today I decided to try a few new things. I fried tofu and used a ghost shaped muffin tin to serve up the lunch. I also gave him a toothpick to eat with. He was so excited to eat his cheese (squash) soup, tofu, gluten free pretzels and orange slices. I have a happy boy. The picture is blurry because he is eating so fast.
Now time to figure out dinner........

Recent busy-ness

We went to the beach, but that was afraid of the water and the birds and did not like the sand. She spent all of her time sitting in the stroller but she is very happy, unless a seagel got within 20 feet of her. Then she screamed like a horror movie scream. The other kids spent a lot of time chasing seagulls for her.
We went to place called Rita's for italian ice. Bev is a huge fan.....shocker. That girl loves sweets.
She loved Ryan's birthday party. She loved to wear the hat and eat ice cream and cake again not a shocker.

Blooging from my phone

Cam did a photo shoot for Bev. Those two are turning into pretty cute buddies.

Oh, Ryan

Today Ryan came out of her room after bedtime saying she had been thinking a scary thought. She was crying and said Cameron had told her a really mean thing. I asked what. "He told me I am going to go in the garbage!" I busted up laughing but she did not think it was funny, she was worried she would die in the trash. We had a long talk about how she would be fine. I sidetracked her and got her talking about what she wanted for Christmas.
(BTW there is no way Cam thought of telling Ryan she was going in the garbage, I am sure she had a hand in him coming up with that idea)
Oh the things they think of to stay awake at night.
The other day I told Ryan to come away from the road because she was by herself, she yelled from the end of the driveway that she was fine, "It's ok mom, I know karate!" I asked her later where she learned karate and she told me she didn't know all of it, she just taught herself the kicking and punching stuff.

W is for when

Bev did not want to wait for Ryan to finish, ah well, at least I got to be there
