We decided to go and explore the big forest area between the airport and our town of Amstelveen. When I say forest, I really mean one big huge park with a lot of trees and other fun park like things. We started going to the goat farm that Jaimee had gone to with the kids a few weeks ago. It was amazing. You walk in an see, surprise surprise, a bunch of goats. Interesting, but you walk inside the building and there is a gate where you can walk in with the goats. The kids immediately ran in to play with and pet the goats. This kids loved it. After about 10 minutes it was obvious that Jannica was the kid that was having the greatest time. She thought it was amazing that she could cuddle with a goat.
Jaimee then went around the corner where you can buy bottles of milk to feed the goats. Beverly particularly enjoyed feeding the goats and went through her milk quite fast.
After the goats, the kids took off to the horse and chicken area. Not having any reason to think that picking up a chicken is weird, Ryan picked up a chicken. Cute.
There is also a playground that was a lot of fun with a slide that is pretty steep where the kids can go really fast. After that, we entered the field area with the pigs and the cows. They just let ou walk up to these big pigs and cows and pet them. The pigs kept snorting at us which was quite amusing. All of this is free and in the middle of the big forest. There has to be some government subsidies involved here somehow. It does appear that all the libetal tax policies are done in quite a way to benefit everyone. But at what cost. Apparently tax rates are around 50%, which seems very excessive. But you get some great benefits in return.
